Submitted by: Lucille W. Hill

For those who dont travel a lot, heading to or from the airport can be a stressful experience. These men and women go through a learning curve, and that usually costs valuable time and it can cost money as well.

A more experienced traveler will actually choose a Denver limo airport service time and time again. Theres a good reason for that. In fact, there are five great reasons why you were, constant travelers consistently choose to hire a Denver Corporate Car as opposed to driving oneself.

Reason #1: Relaxation:

When flying, the process itself is stressful. Some people are nervous flyers while others couldnt care less about the entire trip, from taxiing down the runway to take off, turbulence, and landing. Every bump is just another normal situation for them. Those nervous flyers may have a difficult time relaxing, and if theyre stressed on their way to the airport, it can make the entire perception of that trip much more negative.

Reason #2: Safety:

When traveling, a persons mind might be heading in a million different directions. Their mind might not be on the road in front of them. By choosing a Denver Airport Limo service instead, as long as they choose the right one, they can be safer when heading to or from the airport.

Reason #3: On-time Service:

Driving oneself means running the risk of getting caught in traffic. Even though people have the latest GPS navigation equipment at their fingertips, it cant always predict last-minute accidents. Also, a lot of people are uncomfortable when getting off the highway in unfamiliar areas. By relying on a Denver Limo Airport service, at least one with highly knowledgeable and experienced chauffeurs, they can get around just about any traffic delay, no matter where it happens to occur.

Reason #4: Productivity:

When stuck behind the wheel of your own vehicle, you cant get work done. By choosing to rely on a Car Service to DIA, youll be able to get work done, be productive, and that can make the trip much more enjoyable in the long-term aspect of it.

Reason #5: Its Affordable:

When you calculate in the cost of tolls, parking, fuel, and other incidentals, hiring an affordable Denver Car Service isnt that much more money than driving oneself.

When you consider these five reasons why so many experienced travelers choose a Denver Airport Transportation, it should make one thing abundantly clear, you should, too.

Animal Imaging Research To Avoid Health Problems

Animal Imaging Research to Avoid Health Problems

More and more animal health problems are hitting dogs and there are some that are taking the lives of dogs, and it is up to the pet owner to take care of their dogs to prevent the worsening of these dog health problems. Here are some examples of animal health problems:

Infections is a animal health problem can be found everywhere in a dog s body like ears, eyes, nose, mouth or even the whole body. The pet owner should check every part of the dog s body for red patches, inflammation and dirt that can worsen the infection in these body parts. It is recommended to always clean these body parts regularly and to groom the dog more often.

Your dog can have allergies from dust mites, pollens, dirt and even to food. Some of the best ways is to clean your house more regularly. This is a delicate animal health problem that should be addressed immediately. If your dog is having food allergies, maybe something is wrong with his food, so you should change your diet and try not to feed him with food that may trigger allergies. Ask your vet for medications and other recommendations to prevent allergies, especially if they are getting worse.

You may not know it, but arthritis can hit your dogs as well, especially when they are getting old. This is one of the animal health problems that should be looked after by pet owners. Some common symptoms are: limping, difficulty in getting up, walks slower than before, and is lazy doing anything. Some treatments can be pain relievers or medications to prevent inflammation. There are also that can reduce discomfort and at least improve their mobility.

Obesity is a dog health problem where dogs grow fat because of lack of exercise and unbalanced. This is, most of the time, the fault of the pet owner because he is not watching over the weight of his or her dog and just let him eat anything. The owner does not know that, just like humans, a dog can grow really fat is he or she is a couch potato . The pet owner must check on the food intake of the dog and see what the foods that must be lessened are. Also, exercise your dog.

Always consult your veterinarian when you experience animal health problems so that your dog can be treated immediately. Save your dog because you are the only one who can do that. When your dog sees that you are taking care of him or her, he or she will show it by being a loyal and lovable pet to you. Never overlook the symptoms of animal health problems and always be alert of anything wrong with your dog. Once you have treated him or her, everything will be all right and back to normal. When your dog is already free from sickness, then you will know that you and your dog will have a happy and lively relationship in the years to come.

Dogs rescue owner during diabetic attack

Dogs rescue owner during diabetic attack

Wednesday, January 18, 2006

In Centerton, Indiana a man is alive thanks to his 2 dogs.

Bill Burns was taking his nightly stroll with his dogs, Butch and Dusty, when he had a severe diabetic attack in a cornfield.

His dogs immediately reacted.

Morgan County sheriff’s Deputy, Steve Hoffman, was on a rural road just finishing with a traffic stop, when he noticed a light shining from a cornfield. “I noticed what appeared to be an illumination or a light that was flickering and facing my direction,” Hoffman said. When he got out of his car and walked to where he saw the light, he found Butch was holding a flashlight like he would a bone, in his mouth. Meanwhile, Dusty had stretched himself across Mr. Burns to try and keep him warm.

Hoffman said he then noticed that Mr. Burns was wearing a diabetic medical bracelet and immediately took him to the hospital.

Burns says that he does not remember the ordeal, but thinks that Hoffman even seeing the light is remarkable enough for him.

“It’s got to be just fate or faith, one or the other,” Burns said.

The dogs “definitely are the heroes in the story,” said Hoffman.

Burns was in the hospital nearly 4 days before he had been released.

“Had he not had the dogs with him that evening, I think the outcome would have been a lot worse,” Hoffman said.

As families fled their homes in the early morning hours on Thursday October 26, there was no warning. The Esperanza Fire southeast of Los Angeles and West of Palm Springs, California, had ballooned under the influence of Santa Ana winds to more than 19,000 acres as of the morning of October 27. No time to get the animals, no time for crates or even a leash. Sadly, owners left behind not only their horses, lamas, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, but also their dogs and cats.

Many of the families who did manage to evacuate their pets found themselves in the parking lot at the Fellowship in the Pass Church Red Cross Shelter where a MuttShack Animal Rescue team caught up with them.

Pam Anderson, Director of the emergency Red Cross shelter said that many people with animals had come and left.

The air was thick with smoke, and ash was raining down on the parking lot where dog owners, not able to take their dogs into the shelter were camping out in pup tents and in their cars.

Those who could afford it checked themselves into pet friendly hotels in nearby towns.

Some were prepared. Jane Garner, a small dog breeder was able to get all her animals out, and had set up her puppy runs alongside her RV in the parking lot. Others were not doing too well, having left home without as much as a leash.

The same scenario played out at the Red Cross shelter at Hemet High School. Animals were being boarded in vans, trailers and cars and small travel crates.

When MuttShack Animal Rescue arrived, a small fracas had sent several dogs off in different directions, running out of the school parking lot down busy streets necessitating an instant rescue response.

The Incident Command for the Esperanza Animals, Ramona Humane Society in San Jacinto welcomed MuttShack‘s offer to help at the shelters.

Ramona Humane Society had recently published a notice in their Newsletter about the newly passed “PETS Act” and warned owners not wait until a major disaster such as an earthquake or fire to prepare. “Be proactive to ensure that your pet will be taken care of.”

MuttShack and PetSmart Charities set up ad hoc facilities for the animals at both shelters.

The Red Cross shelter, run by Madison Burtchaell of the Orange County Red Cross was very accommodating about allowing a small emergency pet shelter adjacent to the School.

Barbara A. Fought of PetSmart Charities, an organization that works with animal welfare organizations and provide assistance in disasters, provided crates and emergency supplies.

MuttShack and Red Cross volunteers, Martin St. John, Tom Hamilton, and Steve Meissner helped assemble the crates to secure a safe environment for evacuated pets.

It was a great relief for evacuees who had camped out in the parking lot to finally leave their vehicles and relax at the shelter, setting up their cots to grab some sorely needed rest.

Firefighters and residents reported loss of wildlife and animals. The Esperanza fire burned 34 homes, consumed 40,000 acres and cost five Firefighters their lives before it was contained four days later on October 30. Firefighting operations cost nearly $10 million.

MuttShack Animal Rescue is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization active in disasters and dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and care of lost or discarded dogs, cats and other animals.

Victoria Stafford, eight years old, was sighted leaving her Woodstock, Ontario school on Wednesday afternoon with an unknown woman caught on video camera. She has not been seen since.

Victoria (Tori) attended grade 3 at Oliver Stephens Public School, and the video is from the College Avenue secondary school as Victoria and the unidentified woman walked along Fyfe Avenue.

“I’ve had a lot of problems come up in my life and stuff like that, and I haven’t always been there for my kids, but this is my baby girl and it’s absolutely hurting now,” her father Robert Stafford said, “It’s killing me, [I want to] let her know that I love her and I’ll see her soon. One way or another I’ll see her soon.”

Police teams from Oxford, Waterloo and London have assembled together with rescue dogs and trained search and rescue personnel to find the child.

Police have called the search a criminal investigation, but have not yet issued an Amber alert as there has been no report of an abduction.

150 volunteers joined search efforts and to pass out flyers on the 10th. Police say they have no need of more volunteers at this time, however they would appreciate any tips or calls from anyone who may have seen either Victoria or the woman.

The unidentified woman seen in the video is described as between 19 and 25 years old with straight long black hair. She weighs about 120 to 125 pounds and was wearing a white coat and black jeans in the video. Victoria was wearing a green shirt with a black pleated skirt. She was wearing black and white shoes and carried a purple and pink Bratz purse. She had on a black Hannah Montana jacket which had a white fur lined hood.

“I think what’s happening with members of the public is an expression of their emotions, their concern for this child. And I think that’s good in terms of the willingness of this community to step up,” said Michael Harding, Mayor of Woodstock.

Volunteers are making and handing out purple ribbons, Tori’s favourite colour. A candlelight vigil will be held in the evening on Easter Sunday.

Three Indulgent Ways To Do Anything Better}

February 18, 2017 - Posted by - 0 Comments

Submitted by: Angie Aristone

According to Harvard Medical School Psychiatrist Ned Hallowell, Flow naturally transforms a weakling into a muscleman, a sketcher in an artist, a dancer into a ballerina, a plodder into a sprinter, an ordinary person into someone extraordinary. Everything you do, you do better in flow, from baking a chocolate cake, to planning a vacation, to solving a differential equation, to writing a business plan, to playing tennis to making love.

Unfortunately, flow is an elusive state of consciousness. To my knowledge, there are three reliable, scientifically proven methods of getting into flow. One is a helmet that uses electromagnetic fields to shut down parts of the brain. Designed by DARPA, the research arm of the American military, and tested on snipers in training, its not likely to be widely available to the general public anytime soon. Biocybernaut training, which utilizes advanced and expensive neurofeedback equipment designed by Dr. James Hardt is another option. Requiring a week or more of intensive training, its not an easily accessible option. The third way in is simple, put yourself in a life or death situation where your skills match the challenge. Again, not something that most people are willing to do.

As a psychic-medium and animal telepath, my work depends on flow. Its only in flow that we gain access to latent extra-ordinary abilities that allow us to do anything better, and the seemingly impossible. I have to slip into flow on a daily basis, often several times a day, to do my work. Theres no faking it. What I do is impossible! Except in flow. In flow, we begin to access and integrate telepathic information about the task at hand, which is why I can do what I do and super-human performance is possible in flow states.

I taught myself how to access flow, and anyone can do it. Most of us do, or have experienced flow, in sports, hobbies, meaningful work, or a great conversation. I go through the same stages psychologists understand athletes and performers go through to get to flow: struggle, release, flow and integration. As the name implies, struggle isnt fun, but its helpful. Adrenaline flows, anxiety increases, but so does focus. Flow is all about focus, about fully losing yourself in whatever youre about to do. Risk or vulnerability helps to narrow our focus. I dont like it, but the magic and pure joy we find on the other side is worth it.

I sometimes say that slipping into flow feels like youre dying. Part of you is dying: your ego. Our rational, thinking, survivor minds have to shut off before we can access the power of flow. Even though our egos only temporarily disappear from existence in flow, they sure dont like it. Admittedly, sometimes we come back from flow experiences transformed, and parts of our egos that no longer serve us have died in a way. Thats why we need integration time after a flow experience.

The process of getting into flow gets easier with practice though, and practice can be indulgent! You can practice and get more comfortable in flow in safe, fun and easy ways, then take your skills into whatever you want to do better. So here are my top three tips for slipping into flow:

1. Lose yourself in your senses

Take the time to really, really notice and savor every sensual detail of anything and everything you experience. Enjoy a great cup of coffee, glass of wine, or a meal. Notice and describe every nuance and subtlety. Having a buddy to describe your experiences to can deepen your noticing, and make the process even more fun! If you love fashion, take yourself shopping. Feel fabrics, and how outfits feel. Take a bath with essential oils, visit a flower shop or smell the herbs at the farmers market.

Notice where sensations and smells take you, the images and memories they elicit. Youll be exercising discernment, the ability to pull more and more meaningful information out of subtler and subtler cues, even telepathic cues. Youll also be getting your ego more comfortable with the process of losing yourself in focus.

2. Play

Child and adolescent brains are naturally wired for flow, thats why we learn so fast when were kids. Letting our kid parts out to play can be fun and indulgent, but there is a huge upside! The more you can relax, be in the moment, and bring a playfully creative attitude to anything you do, the more likely you are to slip back into your natural childhood state of flow.

3. Daydream

Flow is a dreamlike state of consciousness, and can feel very much like a dream. Time dilates, we lose our sense of self, our attention goes where its needed, and creative, sometimes strange associations and insights spring to mind. Daydreaming has received a bad rap as unproductive and frivolous, but its a flow state we can practice in, use to jump into flow, and can be harnessed towards productive ends to gain valuable insights and ideas. Daydreaming through creative visualization has also been shown by psychologists to be almost as effective as actually practicing an activity. Creative visualization is standard practice for elite athletes and olympians for good reason!

Of course, losing yourself in your senses, play and daydreaming can be applied directly to almost anything you want to do better, as well as for practicing flow, once you appreciate the value these practices offer. Happy indulging!

Man attacks people, kills 7 in Akihabara, Tokyo

Man attacks people, kills 7 in Akihabara, Tokyo
February 18, 2017 - Posted by - 0 Comments

Sunday, June 8, 2008

A lively shopping district was suddenly struck by an indiscriminate murder spree on a Sunday afternoon. A young man attacked a crowd with a rented truck, and then stabbed people with a dagger, around 12:35 JST (3:35 UTC) on Sunday in the Akihabara district of Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. The suspect, identified as Tomohiro Kat?, aged 25, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Seven people were killed, and ten injured.

The injured people include pedestrians, a 53-year-old policeman, and a taxi driver, 54, who is believed to have left his taxi in order to help a pedestrian hit by the truck. About 17 ambulances came to the scene. NHK reports that medical teams trained for disasters joined the rescue.

The dead are six men aged between 19 and 74 and a 21-year-old woman; each was identified by police.

The truck, traveling on Kanda My?jin-d?ri (Kanda My?jin Avenue), ran into the crowd at a crossing on Ch??-d?ri (Ch?? Avenue), which is a vehicle-free road every Sunday. After entering the crowd, the truck continued moving for about 30 meters. The suspect then exited the truck and began stabbing people. According to a witness, the suspect, upon being pursued by police, ran south on Ch??-d?ri and was cornered in a narrow alley. The suspect dropped his knife after the police officer drew his gun, and was overpowered by the officer and several bystanders.

The suspect has been quoted as confessing to police, “I came to Akihabara to kill people. I’m tired of the world. Anyone was OK. Today I came alone.” The suspect, a native of Aomori City, lived and worked as a dispatched temporary employee in Shizuoka Prefecture. After being held at the Manseibashi Police Station, he was sent on Tuesday to the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office.

At the scene, a table covered with a white cloth was set for memorial flowers and other offerings on the morning of Monday, June 9. As acquaintances of the dead and passersby visited, the table soon filled—almost flooded—with flowers, drink bottles, pictures, and folded paper cranes.

The incident occurred on the same date with the 2001 Osaka school massacre, in which eight elementary school students were killed.

NHK reported the incident as confirmed within 45 minutes, interrupting a news channel program for one minute. Some newspapers created special issues to report the incident as June 8 was a Sunday and also a press holiday, many newspapers in Japan were not scheduled for delivery on that evening or the following morning.

The Akihabara district is famous for its Electric Town with wholesalers and retailers of video games or electric gadgets such as PC parts, televisions and kitchen appliances. It has also become famous for distinctive trends in cultures created or supported by the youth.

Local residents, business owners, and government officials from Chiyoda Ward assembled for an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss whether the practice of maintaining the vehicle-free area on Sundays ought to be continued. The Tokyo Metropolitan Public Safety Commission is also expected to discuss the issue.

Hundreds of legal, highly-skilled workers in the United States sent hundreds of flowers to the Director of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Emilio Gonzalez as part of a symbolic and peaceful protest over what they said was a “flip-flop” by the State Department and the USCIS on eliminating Green card processing delays.

Dr. Gonzalez announced on the USCIS website late last night that the flowers will be forwarded to the injured service members recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and at Bethesda Naval Hospital.

In response, Immigration Voice, a non-profit organization representing skilled, legal immigrants, said that they welcome the fact that Dr. Gonzalez acknowledged the symbolic gesture of our protest and are overjoyed that these flowers will brighten the day of the injured service brethren.

Immigration Voice also said that it is their sacrifice for American freedom that has made this country great and such a desirable destination for multitude of people from around the world and that they wanted to say “Thank you and god bless you” to the servicemen.
